Admin Setup

Get TheyOwnIt running in your Discord server in 5 steps.

Prerequisites

You need Manage Server permission in the Discord server where you want to add TheyOwnIt.

Setup Steps

Go to theyownit.com and connect your wallet. Link your Discord account under Connections.

Invite the TheyOwnIt bot to your server. You can find the invite link on the Admin Dashboard or use the community Discord.

Navigate to the Admin section on theyownit.com. Select your server from the list.

Set up rules to automatically assign roles based on token ownership. See the Token Gating docs for details.

Optionally set up verified PFP whitelists and enable message verification for your community.

Admin Dashboard Features

Server Overview — See connected members, active rules, and sync status at a glance.

Token-Gated Rules — Create, edit, and delete rules. View which members qualify for each rule.

Verified PFP Whitelist — Control which NFT collections are eligible for verified PFP status.

Member List — View all members with linked wallets and their verification status.

Bot Status — Check if the bot is online, connected, and has correct permissions.

Required Bot Permissions

The TheyOwnIt bot needs the following Discord permissions to function correctly:

Manage RolesSend MessagesUse Application CommandsRead Message HistoryView Channels

Make sure the bot's role is positioned above any roles it needs to manage in your Discord server's role hierarchy.
